Project Dovetail is committed to making a difference to the lives of children. We would like to expand the programs offered by taking our next Major Project to the Australian Outback - we will not be just visiting one but 5 rural communities!
We would like to help give children that are living remotely the opportunity to share experiences that situations such as isolation, finances, social situations and illness some times restrict.
We are passionate about helping the children have the chance to enjoy the activities that children in more populated areas have access to.
During our visit we will be running activities to keep the children's minds and bodies, physically and mentally active. We are also aiming to generate enough sponsorship to have a unique package for each child and larger resources to leave with suitable custodians, so the children can benefit from our visit for a long time to come.
Our trip will start from Perth, and see the travel team make their way to the Goldfields, where by they will host a range of activities and make stops at Kalgoorlie, Coolgardie, Boulder, Laverton and Leonora.
We will be working closely with the Department of Indigenous Affairs and can help address social issues such as drug and alcohol abuse in children, and give the children the opportunity to extend their abilities in outlets that they are passionate about such as sports and art. Out travel team includes a social worker who is writing a program to educate the children on these issues.
